Back to my personal space

Dearest blogdosts,

I have been away from this space for the first time so long. And I missed it badly. The disclaimer that I gave at start of my internship (of being irregular in blogging) proved to be true at its end and after that.  Lot of things have changed. Here’s a list of changes

1. In Bangalore when I was on a shopping spree during last few days, I remembered how I searched for XS tees and kurtis for myself. Now I am fitting in the M sized ones. But soon I realised that are a bit too loose for me still. Never mind the money spent, for a girl it’s always important to know she is still in shape (*wink*)

2. I survived the lonely stay in Bangalore seeing the calendar I don’t remember how many times every day and counting weeks. I missed Goa and friends first time so much. Still at the end of it I had smile when I bid goodbye to the city because it taught me many things on the personal front the hard way.

3. First time I could sleep in the flight because I guess air travel have become a bit too regular in recent time. But yes next up on the bucket list is air travel in monsoon seeing rains and clouds.

4. I got to stay at home for proper 15days. It’s surprising how easily one can get comfortable at home and you never feel as if you are back to the place after a long gap. I still take about a week to adjust when I reach back campus.

5. Oh yes! The most important of all – Lately when I use to be back home I use to be given princess treatment which looked more like a guest treatment to me. And I disliked because I knew the reason was I visit home rarely. Well nothing wrong in that but this time I got nice scoldings, mom yelled and complained to my brother for me not helping her :--) I had tears in my eyes not for the scolding but to see the similar kind of expectations from mom again.

6. For the first time I spent good 3hours in parlour to pamper myself with beauty care days before my sister’s marriage. And it reconfirmed to me that I am not one of those who like it. It was pretty boring and I wish not to spend so much time again.

7. I missed first time 9 working days of college at a stretch. But all for good. I had good time enjoying the family get together and reassuring everyone I have not become the “Modern Babe of Goa” just because I am in Goa.

8. Lastly, I reached back campus a week back. I thought I would get back to writing as soon I reach here. But few things kept me away from it.

So that’s in a nut shell my story since the last post. How have you all been?

Wishful of getting regular on this space.
Cheers & Love

1st Smile in Bangalore:)

I am spending the maximum amount of time sleeping, 2nd most highest in watching movies and 3rd highest thinking would i ever want this kind of life..!Nothing wrong but its just that i am getting too lonely. I have got the best of provisions that i ever got or would get in future - But i am not smiling. Why? Because i do not have people with whom i can share the proud feeling and kid like excitement on seeing a 3BHK flat just for me with TV and A/C in my room, do not disturb hang outs on door knob or all services which are just a call away. I miss not just home but my GIM companions too.

So what gets me this first smile? I have been on a spree of watching Sherlock Holmes TV series. After 2 days of logical deductions and theory of information, i switch channels on the TV. And i listen to the dialog - "Ab ye manjeet kaun hai?" Fans who have watched this movie 2-3 times would have guessed it by now. It's movie "Jab We Met". It sometimes feels good to watch a movie that touches the strings of heart and can spread a smile on face - Don't ask for a logical explanation on this pls..:)

No time for flashback

Hey der. As I wait at the final destination – Bangalore airport for my colleagues to arrive, I thought let me grab a coffee and update myself and you all. Yeah I need to update myself too. I have been running around since past one week using all possible modes of transport. So life is moving fast and so am I. As I left the green campus of Goa, my heartbeat missed for a while, as it was one year quick completion on campus. As I vacated my room, tears filled in eyes recollecting the day, we had put in things in an empty room, to make it our living room (me & Lakshmi- roomies). It was hard to take in but we had to move. Followed it the shortest ever trip to home of two days. But it was a needed breather.

Then I visited the city where new girl had landed 1st time she was away from home. It was for 1day in Mumbai, but it brought back all good old memories. I landed yesterday by morning flight – where an eye pleasing sunrise made my journey – I could see the warmth being spread to the city and the darkness being absorbed by sun as people woke up to their alarm - As the eastern side glowed in orange, the west was in the brim of darkness waiting to be taken away – All at once, all from thousands of feet up in the air, all with my very anxious eyes. It had been one of the things in my bucket list.

So, it’s Bangalore. It shall be this city that I need to face as a mini MBA grad for next two months. All together there are 19interns from across India colleges and the company says they have started on gender diversity by keeping the G:B ratio of 1:18. Lot of things needs to be put in place. I will be looking for a place to live in, figuring out arrangements on food and many more administrative things. Apart from that, the main purpose I am here is to work :-) Right now the first things look priority. Kidding. I am excited, I am tensed, I am confused. I am welcoming this as a learning opportunity yet a fear of newness and change is daunting me from inside. That’s it for now. I might become little irregular on this space, which I do not want to, still shall keep all my loved ones updated as and when time permits me.

Thanks for all the love and support. Need more of it now :-)wishing myself good luck before I step out on the roads of Bangalore.

P.S: This is the first thing I am doing(posting the write up) as I get my full facility enabled service apartment. I was elated to get Wifi!!!

And I’ll stop calling myself PGP – 1

Blog dost – It’s 22nd of March!!! Yeah right what is special about it?
Blog dost – It isss 22nd of March!!! Ohk no more drama. I am super excited and high on life today. Something inside me making me to dance, jump, enjoiii!

We have completed term III and that brings down the curtain as PGP – 1. Although the biggest viva of the year is yet to take place! And after that each one of us will have our first face off in corporate as mini MBA’s.

It makes me feel nostalgic for many reasons. We as a batch stood one for 10 months. We (my class) stood as the most notorious class (sec C). We have sailed through half the sea smiling, crying, making others laugh or furious. Sometimes we got applauded, sometimes we got screwed. We supported each other at all point. We showed to others in exam in the name of friendship, we cheated in the name of competition. While song “ishq- risk” took off with formation of couples in 1st trimester, 2nd saw the toll of subjects relieved through Sadda Ahq aithe rakh. Close to finish line it’s “Tenu mai love karda”!!! And soon the batch of 240 shall be divided on grounds of majors and minors. Finance groups would be hanging in rooms, marketing on roads, HR in mid -way:)

In the MBA journey Pgp-1 is defined as the nascent stage. You are still fresh to what a MBA is ought to do. Suddenly as you embark on becoming pgp – 2, the expectations take a leap. A miracle has to take place in your behaviour, knowledge and maturity. First we are comforted saying you’ll learn slowly, you all are still new and will take time to get adjusted. Suddenly everything fades off. The next potential batch is on its way. And I can relate how it was for me last year. Just a piece of advice, in case any of the MBA aspirants get to read this – It’s just the beginning of a Very long journey. Getting into the best of B-schools is dream of many. But it’ll only be an add – on in the huge career profile of yours and not the deciding factor life- long. It’ll fetch just the first job, rest is the potential. So do not worry if you could not make it to your dream college – I too did not. And still I can say I did not lose anything.

Well getting back to the story of 22nd – Every three months since june, our term exams have been scheduled on 19th, 20th and 21st – Sept, then dec and now march. So every 21st we left the campus and were home on 22nd. But it’s not the same this time. It’ll take us more to get back home. And few might not be able to before internship! Keeping fingers crossed and hoping I am not one of them.

We ended our last day as PGP – 1 in sec C with an awesome photo shoot and below are few glimpses of the journey so far -

I was out of place.....

Goa, beaches and its sand always tempted me to attend one of parties marked with Goa specialty.  I attended one and two and more and more. While everyone around cheered with glasses of drink in their hands, i was alone most of the times sitting on the beach. Sometimes moon and stars accompanied me, sometimes just the sound of waves or sometimes even a phone call. Sitting on the beach i reflected on one of the discussions with friends where i had mentioned of attending and enjoying these kind of parties.

It's Party Time!
I Prefer this..:)

It has often happened. The things i loved from a distance disappointed me with a closer look. Be it food, clothes, guys or now parties. Until stepping into Goa, i was a girl for whom day ended at 10:30-11 pm. Enjoyment meant    all friends sitting in a place and talking heart out or some fun filed group assignment. It did include sometimes a well thought night out for which a week's preparation would be needed to convince parents followed by at whose place the night out shall happen. We did go out early breakfast but never for a late night ride. That was not a vacuum. I did that with my brother and it had its own charm.

Here parties are different. On the way to venue, you find instances which you have observed only in the movie. In the party, people are high and waiting for others to get high and later justify their actions in the name of insanity/ out of mind behavior. May i ask these people do they have any sense of responsibility towards if not others at least themselves. I am not against smoking or drinking. You live in a democratic country and you have all rights to take decisions.  But atleast check on your limits. Agreed, first time to check your capacity, the mistake is considered a mistake. Even after knowing your threshold, you cross it voluntarily and create trouble for others, i consider it to be a breach of law.

Although i might be smiling around in the best outfit. A person who can read my eyes can make it out easily that i am feeling out of place..:)

I dedicate this blog to SBG'ians on the eve of Women's Day - Guys! I might be having gud time here as a first time experience. But the best of memories and the cherishable time reminds me of Jinal's room and our never ending discussions..:) **Hugs** - Wish you all a belated Happy Women's day. We are together the best..:)

I had met a….?

Our activa was speeding at 70kmph on the road that was leading where only God knew. As we moved, a "splendour" appeared in the front. We reached him asking for the address and if we were heading correct. A man with average Indian height of 5’8, tough looks and branded glares turned to answer us. His glasses made me uncomfortable. Because I could in them see how shabby I looked. We did not ask the name. Who would ask to a person whom you just intend to talk for a minute plus in such a rush?

Flashback: Same date a year back: 28/02/2011

It was my first encounter with Goa. The train arrived at 6:30 am, an hour late as per the scheduled time. I was accompanied by my brother aka “Akshay” aka “IamVijender”. Within half an hour we were on an Activa hunting roads to reach the venue : Goa Institute of Management, Poriem, Sattari, Sanquelium – Goa printed on a piece of paper. It is amusing and the best part of Goa. You can avail self- transport with ease and at economical price.

Purpose: Entrance interview of GIM.
Time: 8:15 am

It was not long since GIM had shifted to the new campus. So inspite of being a renowned college in the vicinity, people could not address to our desperate queries of guidance for the path. Here is the map for the ease of understanding. Madgaon is the station we got down at. We didn’t expect reaching the venue would be such cumbersome task that we should explore the Goa map.

We were told to head towards Panjim which was 35kms from Madgaon. We reached Panjim at 7:50 am. I was preparing myself mentally for the GD and interview. First I got prepared that I shall have to attend the same without taking a bath. As we reached Panjim, we were told, we had come far ahead. There is a by-pass on the way and we need to take that shortest route to reach venue. No one looked confident and sure of what they were saying.

Picture says more than words

Finally the news broke in. We were still 40kms away. Travelling the said distance was one task, but finding the correct way was the bigger. I recollect saying to Big B, let’s chuck it. All chances that I will be late and would not be allowed. Let us enjoy Goa. While we took a U turn on the road, my mind started answering questions of “why are you late?”, “sorry, you’re late. The process has already started” and ways to tackle them.

Time coincides. He understood from the talk the need of the hour. He spoke very politely and comforted us saying, he’s heading towards the same place.  He assured us of the route that it is the same that he travels on daily basis. We started following him because we had no other option. The clock was ticking 8:10am. I assured myself. As we moved ahead we got down from the National Highway and were soon on the sleekly deserted roads covered with canopy trees. The roads became like “Size Zero” figure and soon we slowed down. We stopped and so did he.

We asked where are you taking us? He answered and his next statement made our eye-brows up in suspicion. He said now that you are running out of time, we shall take a ferry, which is the shortest route. The ferry was near-by and he urged us to move soon as it shall leave and then we’ll have to wait for half an hour before the next turn comes.  Zzziiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnngggggggggg! I exclaimed “Ferry”? I remembered ferry being described as a small boat that carries less people and is round as described by my 5th std teacher. I whispered from behind, bhaiyya ferry is such a small boat. Where do we leave the bike and from there how do we go to campus. We started to take a “U” turn and told him we shall find our way. He was puzzled. He stopped to enquire what happened. He started again that he’s very familiar with this road and shall help us reach us early for the interview. Too much of sweet talk huh?

He said he’s a police guy. He’s returning from his night shift and takes this road on daily basis. We said we do not believe you. You’re taking us on a ride. Ferry? What’s that and how do we trust you bla bla bla. He said after trying hard “As you wish”. And my brother finally asked – You say you’re a policeman right. Please show us your Id card. Slump. I swallowed a gulp on the irony that we enquire the integrity of a policeman. He was kind enough and well understood our anxiety. He showed the same and we verified. Still we did not check on the name!

When we reached the Ferry point I was mesmerised. It is not a small boat made of sticks. It is huge, huge enough, where people park their vehicles inside. At a time it has the capacity to take in 1-15 two wheelers and around 5-7 cars. Soon it was full and the engine roared and we reached the other side of the small lake. And soon we stopped at a diversion which showed GIM, Sanquelium with a left arrow. He removed his glasses and gave a smile and said here it is right at the top of the hill. We were in hurry as the clock was ticking 8:40. We wanted to thank him whole heartedly. But mind was saying to rush. We looked front and then to him for 3-4 times. We said a “Big Thank You and Sorry” and the message was communicated through eyes. We bid “goodbye” to him and started ahead. I turned back and looked till he went out of sight. My heart sighed – “God’s messenger “.

And the rest is history. I am a part of GIM. The person’s face is still in my memory. And I wish to see him sometime during my stay here.

For all you curious readers - Yes I was allowed to sit in the process. It was delayed for me. I had to or rather they had to bear a girl who was smartly dressed from outside. But hadn’t taken a bath nor had brushed her teeth. Yes, you read the last one right!

It’s Captain Jack Sparrow and John Mc Clane

Valentine disclosure

Woho! I hereby declare my valentine/s for this year. Yes you read it right. Aye.  It’s Captain Jack Sparrow and sir John Mc Clane. Do not miss the first’s. So, what is it with you all this valentine? Read quite a few beautiful write ups on “love” and valentine. For me love is anything that can keep me engaged. So this year these two heroic characters have taken my time with friends, food and sleep on time and have enraged me to do the same in real life. Of course last one is exaggeration.

Legendary

I have been staring into the screen for 2hrs 2 and half hours, feeling the thump and the emotion. As the ship is sailing calmly with the wind my eyes widen, for there has to be a topple next or small boats appearing around. And then I repeat it and shout loud “Awesome” , “Bloody hell” to get stares from the people passing in the corridor if I had forgotten to close the door. That’s how my date was with captain Jack Sparrow watching Pirates of Caribbean series. I fell for his style of walking and dialog delivery. It has that pirate touch and feel. The best each time was the “Entry” of captain. Aahh!!! It stole my heart time and again. It was more and more legendary each time and also raised my anxiety in the 3rd sequel when it was delayed.

Heroic

While I was still having dreams of being Elizabeth Swan and “aye” captain sparrow around, I met a new hero. Sir John Mc Clane. His movie seires “Die Hard” is supposedly a “Must Watch Movie” in guys list at least. When I expressed my smitten love for the movie and its direction, girls gave an annoyed look. Hehe. In this series, there is this hero Sir, Mc Clane and a person just like us. How things change in one’s life and its aftermath are depicted with beauty. Each sequel gets better and better. My favourite is the Die Hard 2(airport). The story line is amazing. It can all happen in real life and just around you. For the first time I got a different angle of looking at an airport, Wall Street, or FBI. The action sequences with mostly logical and not heroic counterattack make me take a bow. Although it is an action packed movie, it did drive home certain beautiful points about relationships. Be it with stranger or wife or daughter.

Well I got my valentine for this year and also certain insights about myself.
·        -->  I love watching movies that can keep me on my toes. Do not show me the expected.

·         --> I am not the “chic-flick” buyer who would like to spare money and time to enjoy a movie over popcorn with no crank to brain.
·
-    Nor do I like the idea of watching a movie only once. All the movies on my favourite list have been watched and enjoyed more than before.

·         --> I like Bollywood’s brainless rather than Hollywood’s I am sophisticated.

·        --> My brain does not respond to the quickness of dialogs of Hollywood. In short I need subtitles

Looks like I am giving take away for someone who would want to be my next valentine. Aaahh!!!

Wishing you all a very happy and enjoyful Valentine 2012.

Lost Bottle, Broken Glasses.....

Oh yes! One month already into 2012 too..:) Is time flying just for me..? Life seems to be taking me on a roller-coaster whose pace my senses are failing to keep up with. Last weekend i was in Pune. That place has something captivating for me at least. I fell in love with the place when i visited the first time. I continue to be captive of the place. It sends out a message to its visitors -

"Don't think we are behind in comparison to metros. We have some very renowned personalities, places and institutes running across the lanes. At the same time, we assure of peace and tranquillity which is often missing in metros."

The place is a perfect blend of business and stay with touch of beauty, sensitivity and comfort. Never must have i travelled with such ease using the local buses or trains in my own city. This place is always on my cards for settling in future.

I have grown old but my habits have become only more etched to me J My not so good habits which always landed me with scolding’s for being ignorant and careless. I realise now how these things are taking toll on me with no one around to set me right..:)

Dare you mess with my glasses!

1. It’s close to one month I broke my intellectual red glasses. I was never so fond of seeing myself with glasses until I got myself this pair. It gives me a matured look and prevents me from the uneasiness of having to wear lenses. Hoping to get them repaired by this weekend. (All thanks to the non-proximity of campus to good optical shops)

Meri Pyaari Bottle

2. Second most precious thing with me on campus – My bottle. I think in this respect people around me are missing it equally for the reason that I was their water supplier in class. I have left them with friends who visited goa two weeks ago. I have been assured of a courier delivery. Awaiting for the same eagerly.

3. I am missing my 90W laptop charger since 5months..:) It got exchanged with someone’s 60W on campus. My laptop has faced the consequences twice in spite of being as new as 7months old. I still need to figure out the person.

3. I haven’t shopped for myself since 4-5 months. Although I am not fond of shopping, but wardrobe update is a must for me. I am tired of seeing the same old clothes and I need to get my cupboard right before April. I might visit home bhai for this reason..:P
Suited Best on my Wrist:)
4. This missing agenda reminds me of one more thing – My Lost Red Watch – It was the most precious gift I had received on my birthday. I have no idea when or where I have misplaced. There is no hope of getting back the same and I haven’t worn a watch after that.

Apart from these tangible things that are missing and keeping me uneasy (still I am lazy enough not to do anything about itJ), I am missing the fights with mom for TV remote, permission of dad over a night out and “A secretive smoke” with brother..:P Ooops was I not supposed to let out the last one..?Hehe…

Keep smiling friends..:)

Most Adorable Couple

P.S: My mom and dad’s journey completes 26 cherish able years this 8th..:)

Teenage fall…..

Bliss...

With Valentine round the corner, I am identifying the couples on campus, who shall be writing messages for their loved ones on the scribble board. And will also making economy imperfect due to demand exceeding supply. I remember, last year when I came down for my interview. As we went to cafeteria for lunch, there was a huge notice board near the payment counter. It caught attention. As I went ahead to catch a glimpse, ahem ahem. I was in an odd situation as I was with my brother. We both read a few messages which came straight from heart. And you can guess the stream of thoughts that went through both the minds.

Blogdosts, I am of the opinion that teenage crush or fall is the most involuntary and innocent. There is a charisma that attracts you to the other person. You long for simple things.

a. A glance towards the person in class with eyes meeting at the same time generates butterflies in your stomach.

b. When you are alone you have so many things in your head to share with the person. And you go blank when you have the company. All you do is “smile”.

c. Just a “sms”  or “online status” or compliment from the person makes your day.

d. You are lost every time you hear a song or watch a movie.

e. You keep looking for reasons which are so obvious for anyone to interpret the feelings. In your insanity you feel the world around is equally insane.

The level of innocence keeps dipping as the age keeps growing. You become more materialistic and your feeling more lusty. It’s not a judgement but facts and numbers conform so. It’s only about confrontation.

Blogdosts, everyone has crazy experiences. There are instances which make you burst out of laughter for the stupidity done. While there are also a few which makes you nostalgic. To admit something on this personal space, I have always behaved very pragmatically. There have been instances when I wanted to give in, but my practical senses warned and overpowered. Because they knew it wouldn’t last long. Also I wasn’t anytime prepared for a heart break. I knew I wouldn’t be able to handle the short stands.

As my professor touched the topic of “affairs” in Ethics lecture, he mentioned about temper and temptation deciders of one’s moral strength and self-control. I am thankful to the moral strength embedded in which my family plays the primary role. Few things need not be taught explicitly. You learn them when you’re a child by observing people around you. For me my “Maa” is the epitome of it. Also as I grew, I came across and started relying on a few more special people, whose verdict, I consider final for myself. It’s not blind faith. But it is just that they are wise enough to take selfless decision for me.  If left to me I would take the decision in the other direction and it would be myopic.

Thank you all for holding my hand every time before it got too late.

P.S: Before valentine we have more important date to recollect. Happy Republic Day friends..:)
